Heys Guys! Can you believe we are almost through November. Thanksgiving is well on it way then CHRISTMAS!!!! I hope you are enjoying reading my blog as much as I am enjoying writing it! I have forgotten how much I like writing and expressing my thoughts.
Side note thinking about doing a podcast where I talk about about two different things, Love and teaching. The love side of it would be cohosted with my boyfriend like a he said she said vibe. Then the teacher part would be things that are discussed in the teachers lounge at my school and what people think about this issues teachers have. Please let me know what you think of this! I want to hear is that something you would listen to or not.
Ok back to the real reason why you are reading my blog. I hope you are ready, because this weeks items are filled with emotion and drama. Hahahahah just kidding about the drama, but definitely emotion. So grab your box of tissues because here we go!
Day 11- I am thankful for my talents. I am not much of a painter, in fact I am really bad at it. I wanted to paint the inside of my closet to transform the space into a closet office( Look it up, it is a thing, and a cool thing at that!) The night before I grabbed all the items I would need and was ready for today. The last time I painted a room was my room back at my parents house. Let's just say that I don't like going in that room and I am glad I moved out. It was bad, the paint was splotchy and I took the tape off too soon. With hesitation and determination I began painting! The results are amazing! It stills needs a touch up in a couple of areas, but overall not bad. I enjoy painting and I know if I continue to work at it I will become better.
Day 12- I am thankful for days off! Thank you Veterans who sacrifice all for our country that you so willingly give. During my day off so much was accomplished. My dad came over and finished putting up my security door, and installed two new locks. I was also able to finish painting the cloffice( yes that is the official name!), it truly looks great! Lastly I was able to install solar panel outdoor lights. If I didn't have this day, only some of those things would get done. What do you do on your days off?
Day 13- I am thankful for my relatives kind heart. My Uncle and Grandma gave me $150, so that I could turkeys for my students. Each year my school holds turkey race in which students can run and possibly win a turkey. We raised 129 turkeys and was able to give so many away beyond the students who won the race. With my Uncle, grandma, and my parents help I was able to donate 18 turkeys. To the see the smile on kids face was all worth it!
Day 14- I am thankful for my family. They are always there and always willing to support me.
Day 15- I am thankful for district meetings. I can hear it now all the teachers saying, What?!?! I am thankful for those meetings because I get to meet with four other 1st grade teachers. This is our opportunity to talk about what is going well in our classroom, and what isn't I find these meetings helpful. I am able to add things to my teacher toolbox and contribute things that others might find helpful. It feels good to be apart of a community of teachers and just share.
Day 16- I am thankful for Fridays!! I enjoy finishing work and being able to leave without having to worry. I just finish up my business and leave work. Work stays at work and I can enjoy being home more because I don't have to think about work. Change is good and embrace it!
Day 17- I am thankful for the ability to express my emotions with ease. I wear my heart on my sleeve, easily seen for all. This days was an emotional day for me for multiple reasons. I went to the temple and was able to feel the spirit there, which was much needed. Then I got in a fight with a friends
